Weekend Rewind

We had a pretty relaxing weekend. In two weeks, our sweet boy will be ONE and so I figured I better get going on some party things!! Friday, I worked and as soon as I got off, Mama and I ran to Southpoint. We got William's birthday present from Hannah and I was on a desperate hunt for a dress for our pictures this Friday. We had dinner with Stephanie and her dad in the food court and then I finally found a cute dress at Talbots but it just didn't fit right, too long for me! We finally left the mall with no luck around 8:30. Robbie got home at 10 and we relaxed for a few minutes before heading to bed ourselves. We are such old people now that we have William! Haha!

William had his last bottle!

First sippy of real milk! He fell Fri morning and bruised his cheek :(

Trying on his winter hat that came in the mail!
Saturday morning, William and I got ready and headed out to lunch with Mama. He looked so grown in his seersucker pants! After lunch, we went to Carter's and Mama got a ton of winter clothes for William's birthday!! They were having good sales and had some cute stuff!! I finally found a dress after that!! I also found a pair of jeans, but I am waiting on those. William used to be the best shopping buddy. Now, he is getting a little too busy for it. He wanted to get out of the stroller and crawl around. I stopped in Staples to price compare printing stuff for William's party vs. buying ink and doing it myself. We haven't put ink in our printer since I graduated college...FOUR years ago! I decided that the ink was the better way to go, definitely. I ran to Buy Buy Baby to get the other part of his gift from Mama and then to Harris Teeter for a few things before coming home and starting chili for dinner. Stephanie and her dad joined us. Robbie got off around 7:15 and came home to dinner on the table ;) I was so beat when everyone left that I don't know how I even kept my eyes open to get in the bed!!

Sunday, Mama came over and we had leftover chili for lunch. Thankfully, she watched William so I could go to Fingertips and get a much needed eyebrow wax and pedicure!! I ran to Target and got our printer ink. We rode around after that and looked at houses and William had a little snack in the car before falling asleep. We stopped by and saw Lara Lee. Haven't seen her in forever and it was good to catch up!! After all that riding, I figured William needed to stretch out a little bit, so we stopped at the park in Brier Creek. He loved going down the slide and playing in the trains they have out there. We practiced walking since the ground was soft. He is so great at walking while only holding one of our hands, he just has to get that confidence to let go and keep going!! We went to dinner at El Dorado and then William and I headed home for a bath and night-night! Robbie was home at 8 and we enjoyed catching up on Chopped and the Kardashians! ;)

BIG Milestone...

This weekend, William reached another big milestone. It seems that they are happening almost everyday. He had his last bottle on Friday. It actually was unexpected. We were almost out of formula, so I figured I'd give the Dr a call to see what they thought of me starting him on whole milk instead of buying more formula. The nurse said since he is only two weeks away from being one (WHAT?!??!?!) that it would be fine to go ahead and switch him.

Luckily, we have never warmed his bottles and in the past few months, had been using the water from the refrigerator, so he was used to cold liquid. So the cold milk didn't shock him. We tried it at lunch on Friday, and he took one sip from his cup, expecting water, and took the cup out and smiled at me and said "YUM!" He LOVES it. I am so glad he loves the taste and we haven't had to do any mixing. Since he loved the milk so much, we just never gave him any more bottles after Friday. I was expecting a few more days of bottles, but if he's doing okay with not having them, why bring them back to take them away again?!

We got rid of his nighttime bottle about 3 months ago, so he was only have 3 a day. Two of them were after meals, so I think by subbing the milk with those meals, he is getting full. He has only acted a little whiny after his afternoon nap, since he used to have one when he woke up. We are giving him some milk and a snack to take the place of the bottle and it seems to work fine. He really was never obsessed with his bottle and we had to force-feed him since he was born!! He is just not a huge eater.  I am so thankful for an easy (so far) transition.

Robbie packed up all of his bottles this morning. :( I am happy for the savings with the formula, and he is eating so well at the table that the bottles were just another thing to think about. But it is still crazy that he is old enough to be without them. :(

Happy Birthday, Grand Papa!

Thursday night, we celebrated Stephanie's dad's 85th birthday! We all went to The Pit downtown. It was my first time going and it was delicious!!! William loved it! He had some of Mama's Brunswick Stew, pulled pork, ribs, mac and cheese, green beans, and biscuits. I was shocked at how much he ate. We had a great time celebrating and Stephanie got him the most beautiful cake from our fave, Edible Art. We got out just in time, as about 90 NCSU frat boys were coming in. At least I wouldn't have to worry about William being the loudest in the restaurant. ;)

Taco Wednesday

Wednesday night, we had Willie and Ashley over for dinner!! I lol'd when I saw them bringing Molly's highchair in the door. It is much easier, though, to have both kids quietly eating while we eat, instead of switching them up. We had such a great time laughing and talking. William and Molly had a great time playing. When she first got here, he was sitting beside her and batted her bow out of her hair, like a kitten. It was too funny. Luckily, neither of them get their feelings hurt yet, because they both wanted what the other was playing with and would snatch it from each other. So funny!!!

Robbie and I made Taco Pasta Bake and it did not disappoint! William and Molly loved it. Willie and Ashley brought salad with our favorite, their homemade ranch dressing!! We had lemon meringue pie for dessert! We love when they come visit!

Waiting for our friends!

Giving Molly love!

After dinner looking suspicious

This is my favorite! They just look like they are up to something!!!

Weekend Rewind

So, I'm a little late on reflecting back to our weekend. It seems that four day work weeks do that to me. I'll make it short since it is almost time for another weekend, yay!

Friday, I worked. We ran to Subway for lunch. William shared my turkey sub with me ;) Tiffany picked up my last In Stitches order for me, thanks Ni!! I am so sad that was the last order :( We loved their work and they always tried to accommodate me since I was out of town! That afternoon, we went to Smart Momma and Mama got a car seat for her car! She got a great deal since a new model of the Britax Advocate had just come out. I love it and now wish I had it in our van!! Haha! We grabbed dinner at O'Charley's that night, thanks to a 20% off coupon for Labor Day!!

Saturday morning, William just played and played. He loves to grab Riley's collar. I hate to tell him, but I think SHE will walk HIM, ha! He got stuck in his little toy. It was so funny. He looked over at me like, Uh oh. We went to lunch with Mama, and then she headed to Charlotte for the weekend. William and I made a quick trip to Southpoint Mall. He tried on some Tom's since he is getting a pair for his birthday! (Thanks, NI! ;)) I tried on some clothes and we walked the mall a few minutes and then headed home. He decided an afternoon nap was not in the cards, and just played. We were so happy when Robbie got home around 6 that night. It was Willie and Ashley's 5th anniversary!! They invited us out to dinner for Mexican. We had a great meal and laughed and laughed. So thankful for such good friends!!

This face cracks me up! He was acting mad!!

The new thing is lying on his back and watching TV like he is grown!

Only pic I got of William and Molly!
On Sunday, my friend Randi had to come to Raleigh to drop her bf off at the airport. We went to lunch at Two Guys Grille in Morrisville. It is so good! That afternoon, I just relaxed while William napped. When Robbie got home, we all 3 got in the bed and just hung out! It was so nice. We had dinner at home again, Robbie made some wonderful pork chops!! William now loves to stand in his bath, it freaks me out!! He is so adventurous. He just never gets tired of playing. It is amazing. After his bath, he wanted to play in his room some more before bed!

He wasn't quite ready for bedtime...opening back up the toy box.

Sunday night, William slept in 45 minute intervals. It was awful. His nosy was stuffy, and we realized he has another tooth coming in on the top. Robbie had to open so he slept while I got up 100 times it felt like. Needless to say, Monday morning, I was exhausted. Thank goodness I didn't have to work! When it was time for naptime, William did not want to nap because of his nose being stuffed. I will tell the truth and say I was kind of at my wits' end! I was SO ready for Robbie to be home. It was a long weekend. After lunch, things improved. He did eat a good lunch, thank goodness! He always loses his appetite when a tooth comes on the scene, and it freaks me out! He entertained himself really well, and before we knew it, it was naptime again and praise! He went down and slept for 2.5 hours. When Robbie got home, I passed the baton, so to speak. Thank God for a hubby who walks in the door exhausted but still jumps right in to help. I was thankful for dinner at home that night, since we were all beat!!
