This weekend, William and I were hanging solo! Nana was in Charlotte, and Dada had two long days/nights of closing. We just hung around the house most of the time.
Saturday afternoon, we headed outside! Mama and Hannah got William a water table for Easter, and he really hasn't had a chance to use it and enjoy it. So, I filled it with water, put him in a bathing suit, and he went to town!! He loved splashing and playing with all of the toys. I found some little dinosaur water toys in the $1 spot at Target for him to play with. Target also had sidewalk chalk in the $1 spot. I LOVE the $1 spot!! We stayed outside for almost an hour, splashing and drawing! Before we went in, I noticed a frog under William's picnic table. I pulled him over to show him, and he immediately started saying "Ribbet, ribbet!" I was laughing so hard. I moved the table a little, and the frog hopped. That just freaked W out!! He couldn't stop laughing, and would go play for a few minutes, and then go back and peek through the table to see the frog.

And, there is the frog! Way back in the corner! |
This afternoon, we went back out again! The first thing William did was look under the picnic table for the frog. I hated to tell him that the frog was longgg gone haha! After I filled up the table, (I am a weirdo and drain it after each day - standing water freaks me out!), he had more fun splashing and drawing. While he was drawing, he spotted a bug and chased it with his finger all across the pavement. The things you can find when you are outside, lol! Today was hotter than yesterday, so we came in after about 30 minutes. I think the water table will get lots of use this summer!!!

Chasing a bug! |
William and I had such a great weekend together. As I was putting him to bed tonight, he wanted some extra loving, and just kept petting my face, and leaning in to rub noses and to give me one more kiss. I literally just sat there and thanked God for this wonderful blessing. I had just been thinking about all of the things I needed to get done in preparation for tomorrow, but I just forced it all out of my mind and spent a few minutes getting all of my facial parts pointed out, and hearing giggles and getting kisses. Tell me again, how did I get so lucky?!
We put some dish soap in our water table last week when Kristen and her girls came over. Game changer. If he gets tired of the water, through in some bubbles, it's like a whole new toy.
ReplyDeleteSmart Mama to drain the water. It gets so nasty and a film grows in the table. Not that I would know from personal experience!
