Have you ever had a day where you thought everything was going to be just wonderful...and then realize God has other plans for you!? Today was my day.
It started out great! I went to work....had a good morning....Robbie put Chicken Taco Chili in the CrockPot this morning...came home and visited with him for lunch...then had another great afternoon at work. Sounds great, right??
When I pulled out of the parking lot at 5:30, I heard a loud noise and a flapping sound. I really thought it might be an airplane since I work right beside the airport. So I turned down my music and really listened. Then my car started pulling to the right. I thought "ohemgee do I have a flat tire?!" Luckily I hadn't turned onto the interstate, so I pulled over in the Hilton parking lot, praying the tire would hold on. I called Robbie, got out and checked the car - the tire was indeed flat. As in pancake. I didn't know what to do!! We let our AAA expire (of course) and I was in the Honda (so no OnStar) AND you already KNOW I'm not getting dirty! So I called Colony Tire since we just bought the tires a couple months ago. I think I must have scared the poor guy because he said "Ma'am don't hang up, I'm going to get help, stay on the line". He then comes back and tells me he's sending someone out to change my tire. Whew, thank the Lord!!! I was getting scared now because it was getting dark and I was the only car around!
The nice guy gets there and puts my donut on and wouldn't you know it, he couldn't get enough air into it so he said it wasn't safe for me to drive on the interstate AKA my only way home!!! Sooo he follows me to Sheetz and guess what?! The air machine is out of order. This is a joke!! So he leaves because he is way off the clock, and Robbie comes to meet me to put in air in my tire. Yes, I am such a girl that I do not know how to do these things...nor do I want to!!! Thank you very much :)
So my sweet co-worker Gayle is going to meet me at Colony Tire in the morning before work so I can drop my car off. Please pray that I can report good news AKA they don't charge me an arm and a leg. Even though this was a HUGE pain and disrupted my evening, I am so thankful that it didn't happen on the interstate and it is something so small as a tire compared to what others are dealing with. Oh by the way -- incase you wanted to know what was IN the tire --- a razor blade!!!! Of course my dad is freaking out someone did it on purpose...but there is no way!!! We have a lot of construction going on in and around our neighborhood, and I park my car in our small parking lot at work right outside someone's window.
How's that for drama?!
