Disney Day 3!

On day 3, we headed to Animal Kingdom. It is a HUGE park, and the most walking, all up and down hills haha! Even though it is huge and spread out, it somehow takes the shortest time to get around. I think because things like the safari, etc take up SO much room. So we usually just spend about a half of a day here, and explore other resorts for dinner. Last year, we went to the Wilderness Lodge and ate dinner after AK. This year, we heard RAVE reviews about the Ohana restaurant at the Polynesian Resort. Since Ohana is so insanely popular, even months out, we could only get 8:30 PM reservations. Isn't that wild?! Oh well, how often are you at Disney?! Who needs bedtimes?! ;)

Our view every morning from our room!

When we first got to the park, we took advantage again of a couple of memory maker spots. We had a FastPass for the safari, so we raced to that next. This was a MUCH better experience than last year. LOTS and lots of animals were out and about. I think the time of day (10:30am) we went this time was better for seeing more. We had a giraffe literally almost put its head into our tram.

Ready for a safari ride!
Baloo the bear! He is a recent fave, thanks to the Jungle Book being re-released!

Robbie and I did another FastPass for our favorite ride, Everest. We LOVE it, and love that this year, we had the memory maker and didn't have to buy the ride pictures seperately.

We had lunch at Flame Tree Barbecue again. We ate there last year, and everyone seemed to like it, so why mess with a good thing? I tried the BBQ sandwich, and it was delish!

We met Dug and Russell from Up! William was so excited. After meeting them, we headed to the Bug's Life show. We missed it last year, and it was a lot different than I expected. Very interactive, and funny!! William did get a little scared when it got really dark, but then was fine!

We used our last FastPass to meet Mickey and Minnie. William was just in LOVE with meeting all of the characters. Such a change from last year! I just love how you never feel rushed with them. They all take the time to take tons of pictures, hug, etc.

Next up, we saw Pooh and Tigger, and Pluto, Goofy, and Donald Duck! The thrills!! After all of those characters, we took William on a couple kiddy rides in Dino Land, and then headed over to the last showing of Finding Nemo. We missed this show last year, and man! What an awesome show. It was a nice long break from walking, and the colors in it were just beautiful. It followed the movie exactly, and I don't think William said a WORD the entire time. I am SO glad we got to see it!

Waiting for Nemo!

After Nemo was over, we had tons of time before we needed to leave the park. After doing a few more things, we went to the Guest Services place and jsut hung out, ha! William had some snacks, I was able to charge my phone, and we just enjoyed talking to everyone. The people who work there are just SO nice!!!

We finally left the park around 715. We had to take a bus to the Polynesian resort. We got there, and the host told us we would proibably be after 8:30 sitting down, since the fireworks at Magic Kingdom were going on, and that slows people down since you can see them from the restaurant. We actually ended up waiting until 9:15, whew! We were starving and tired.

At Ohana, you eat until you want to burst. And then you want to eat some more. It is ridiculously good. If you can get a chance to go, GO! You start with a salad with their fruity dressing, and then appetizers of dumplings and wings. THEN, your veggies and amazing noodles come. THEN, your waiter brings around sticks of pork, chicken, shrimp, and beef that has been cooked over an open flame. It is so amazing. It is totally unlimited, too! For dessert, they have bread pudding and ice cream. Y'all. Yum! Seriously. We had a late night, and didn't get home until around 11:30. Was it worth it?! YES! So good!
