This past Sunday night, we went to our church's Christmas musical. It was titled "Your Favorite Christmas", and it was so awesome!! It was mainly music, but it did have a storyline to it that told the exciting, good news of Jesus' birth!! We got to church at 5:30 and the musical started at 6. We were greeted
at the door with people dressed up as a snowman, bear, nutcracker,
gingerbread man, and a reindeer. William was too afraid to get TOO
close, but kept asking for all of them during the entire show. The
reindeer gave him a candy cane while we were in line to get in, so he
was pumped.
We decided to take William with us. It was his first time in "big church", so we were a little nervous. I figured with all of the music, though, that he would be pretty content. We were armed with popcorn, juice, and all sorts of goodies to keep him still. He did great! The show was so awesome, he didn't even have time to be bored. He sat right with us and just stared and clapped and danced! At one point, when it got silent (of course), he yelled out, "baby Jesus!!" I LOL'd! We were there until around 8, so I think he did great for that amount of time of sitting still haha! The church had homemade cookies and coffee and hot chocolate afterwards, so we went in and grabbed some cookies. They were amazing! Y'all already know I am totally giving props to anyone who can bake cookies without
messing them up.
I say it all the time, but we are SO thankful for Providence, especially this time of year. I am so so happy that my TWO year old comes home from Sunday school with a birthday cake for Jesus, asks for the Bible at storytime, and loves to sing about Jesus. And Providence totally reinforces all of this while he is there. We love worshiping together as a family there. We hope that all of you are preparing your hearts for the birth of our Savior, who is the real reason for this amazing season. This year will be extra special for me, I know that!
9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

I thought the program this year was AMAZING. Seriously. Their months of hard work paid off. Was that drumline awesome or what?! I was like a proud mama watching them do their marching formations up there!
