Disney Day Two: Hollywood Studios

Our second day, we ventured to Hollywood Studios! We had the whole day there, so we were excited. Yes, William had shirts for each day in the park. I have been asked that numerous times, haha! All of his appliqued shirts were made by Polka Dots and Stripes. She did a great job and I am obsessed with all of them! The smocked outfit he wore to Magic Kingdom was from Stitched & Smocked. I ordered that long before we even thought about Disney, just for William's obsession with Mickey! Another question I have been asked is about our travel agent. We used Cupcake Castles Travel Company and our agent's name is Jerica. Her email is jerica@cupcakecastlestravel.com. She was amazing to work with and answered thousands of questions from me. She made all of our reservations for us at the table service restaurants. I highly recommend doing that because it is so effortless and you walk right to your table!! If you plan on going to Chef Mickey's, book NOW! We weren't able to go there since they get booked so quickly. I also had a ton of help from a good friend, Lara Lee! She helped by creating a spreadsheet of where we should eat, and how many dining credits we should use. Every morning at breakfast, two of us shared a platter of food and got one snack to share (could be a cinnamon bun, yogurt, etc).

He climbed in the stroller by himself. So ready to go!
The Finding Nemo pool at our resort. Disney music was playing under the water! So neat.
William's breakfast - Cars waffles!!
Ready to get on the bus!

We were not good at getting up early. I think we were just so tired and knew we had all day. So we typically woke up around 7:30 or 8, got ready, had breakfast, and were at the park by 10:30 or so. Thank you all for the sweet thoughts and prayers; they worked! William woke up that morning and did NOT have a fever!!! Praise the Lord! I was soooo happy. Mama rented a scooter. Let me tell you, that is the way to GO! I'm not saying pay millions for it, like the recent scandal, but if someone in your party needs it, go for it! It helps get you into things that were otherwise full, get on the bus first, etc. We never waited for a bus! William loved to ride on the scooter too! He would beep the horn over and over. Hannah and I almost died when Mama wrecked into the wall of a gift shop. She hit it so hard that the power cord came flying out of the basket. I know people thought I was crazy, because I was doubled over laughing. We also rented a stroller for William. It was a City Mini and we LOVED it. It folded over so easily and was so compact. I loved how it reclined flat also, so when he fell asleep, he was golden!

When we first got to the park, we ran into the nicest gift shop. They had a ton of stuff!! Robbie got a hat and William got a little plastic Mickey that he LOVES. I decided to go ahead and change William at the Baby Care Center (SUPER nice!) while Robbie headed to Toy Story Mania to get Fastpasses for later in the day. The fastpass is awesome! When there is a long wait, you can get a fastpass for later in the day. That way you don't have to stand in line! They give you an hour window to come back in, and you pretty much walk right onto the ride! Anyway, Toy Story Mania was at the back of the park. Poor Robbie had to bring back the bookbag, then go all the way back there, to realize he needed ALL of our park tickets to get Fastpasses. Poor thing. He was already sweating, only being in the park 30 minutes ha!

Didn't get a chance for this show :(

After we got those, we headed over to the Disney Junior Live show. This was one of the "must do's" on my list. William loves Disney Junior. It was a cute show, only about 25 minutes long. It featured characters from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sofia the First, Doc McStuffins, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. It was really fun and William loved it! We got front row seats, but it did make it hard to see, since they are puppets that come up from the floor.

Before the show, we saw Jake right outside. We waited in line for a few minutes for him, and then gave up once he took a break, and it was getting close to showtime. Another thing - you just feel so safe at Disney! We parked our stroller at each ride, etc, and no one ever messed with it. In fact, one time, someone covered our stroller so it wouldn't get soaked!!

Exploring the Indiana Jones gift shop!

One of my favorite Golden Girls - Bea Arthur!

We had lunch reservations at 50's Prime Time Cafe. It was set up like an old house, and everyone was so funny!! Our waiter was a mess. They all use your name, and introduce you to the room you are in, so you all feel like family. The food was delicious!!! They love to mess with you though. He scolded William (in a joking way) for throwing his crayons down, the waiter in the section next to us fed a 55 year old man his vegetables before he could leave the table. It was just funny!!! I had the pot roast and mashed potatoes, and it was amazing!! Robbie and Mama had a mixed platter of pot roast, meatloaf, and fried chicken. The dining plan is SO awesome, because you can order the most expensive meal, or the cheapest. And every meal comes with a drink and dessert. And I can't say enough about the desserts. The brownie sundae is unbelievable. It had ice cream, sprinkles, caramel corn, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, M&M's. Oh my goodness. It was out of this world. William's kids meal came with a scoop of ice cream, and he was OBsessed with the Mickey Mouse sprinkles on it! This was our favorite meal the entire time, so I would definitely put it on your list!!

With our waiter!
When we came out, it was pouring and we were again so thankful for our ponchos.

This balloon was the best $10 spent the entire trip. It is still inflated and William carries it EVERYwhere.
I found a monogram shop! ;)
After lunch, he passed out!

We ducked into the Indiana Jones show. It was really neat. I can't help but think of Full House while sitting there, haha!

We all rode the Great Movie Ride. It was very interesting!! So neat to see a lot of old movies acted out with dummies that look creepily real. William rode a lot of rides with us! He could pretty much ride everything except roller coasters. Mama doesn't like those either, so she was happy to sit out with him.

We headed over to Pixar  Studios, and returned our Fastpass for a ride on Toy Story Mania. You wear 3-d glasses and shoot targets. It was so fun!! William sat in Robbie's lap and LOVED it. He has seen Toy Story on TV a couple times, and loves to point out the characters. The ride was super cool, but I don't think it would have been worth the 75 min wait time! ;)

My little gamer, Robbie, beat me! ;)

Princess Hannah!?
Robbie and I braved the Hollywood Tower of Terror. I had ridden it years ago, but Robbie never had. It was intense, and Robbie didn't talk for about 3 minutes after. Haha!!

The line to meet Woody and Buzz was 45 minutes long, so we stole a pic! ;)

We had dinner at Pizza Planet. It was okay. You get a pizza, Caesar salad, cookie, and drink. Not bad. It counts as a counter service meal. It was definitely a neat atmosphere and we LOVE Toy Story, so it was fun!

After dinner, we met Lightning McQueen and Mater. Mama and Hannah took a break, below. ;)

Our last event of the night was Fantasmic! It was SO awesome. My advice is, get there early!!! By 8:40 (it starts at 9), they were saying there was standing room only. Thanks to Mama's scooter, we got to sit in the last wheelchair section. The show was about 30 minutes or so, and it was SO cool!!! Fire, water, lights, characters. Just some of the fun in this show. Mickey is your host. At the end, a huge boat comes around with all of the Disney characters on it. It was so neat!! William LOVED it. Everything that happened, he was all "oooooooh" and pointing! I LOVE that he enjoyed it!

Hollywood Studios was Robbie's favorite park. There were still some things that we missed, so we are saving those for next time!!

Next up, Magic Kingdom!!! My favorite!

  1. 1) We learned last year that taking someone in a wheelchair is the way to go! It's better than a fast pass!

    2) I got so tickled about your mom running into a gift shop!!!
